After the suffocation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which led to a wave of closings of clubs and concert halls, São Paulo’s nightlife begins to catch its breath and sees the arrival of news. Two new addresses arrive at Rua Augusta, Andromeda Club and Kat Klub, which opened their doors at the end of May.
Separated by a few meters of distances in the so-called Baixo Augusta, the houses are the new tenants of addresses known to those who frequent the region to party – while Andromeda is in place of the old Desmanche, which closed activities during the pandemic, Kat Klub replaces the Alley, closed in 2020.
With a flying saucer stuck in the façade and employees dressed in character, with extraterrestrial costumes and other improbabilities, Andromeda bets on the space theme to inspire the public to dance and pose for selfies — there is even a spaceship inside the house for people to take Photos.
Who runs the house is Fábio Lima, also in charge of clubs Bofetada, Garage and Aloka, all in that region. To create Andromeda, he teamed up with influencer Felipe Didonih, who created series starring ex-BBB Viih Tube for YouTube.
Funk and pop dominate the venue’s programming, which also makes room for rap and Brazilian music, which is the theme of the party on Sundays. The schedule is fixed and the value of the tickets starts from R$ 20 depending on the schedule.
Like neighboring Andromeda, Kat Klub also highlights instagrammable spaces. But the theme there is the cats, which are scattered around the environment in neons, graffiti and the house brand.
Another similarity is in the soundtrack, which highlights pop and funk — but the track also goes through Latin rhythms, rock and electronic music. The address has parties with tickets starting at R$10.
Sérgio Oliveira, aka Serjô, is in charge of this endeavor alongside André Plácido and Daniel Prado. Businessman, DJ and producer, he is a well-known figure of the night – places like Sputnik and Desmanche itself were played by him. He currently runs Irregular, in Barra Funda.
The tip is to keep an eye on the Instagram profiles of the two houses, which bring the week’s schedule and the discount list for the tickets of the chosen parties.
