The Copernicus / Emergency Management Service – Mapping Service of the European Union, was activated by the Emergency Planning and Response Directorate of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection for the mapping of the area affected by the fire, which broke out yesterday Saturday in Ano Glyfada and then Ano Voula and Vari.

According to a relevant announcement, the purpose of the activation is the production of cartographic products and data for the area of ​​Ymittos, which was affected by the fire, to assist the work of the bodies involved in dealing with emergencies and managing the consequences of the phenomenon.

The data and maps of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service / Mapping Service will be made available directly from the Emergency Planning and Response Directorate of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection to all stakeholders free of charge for the management of their work.

Damage counting in progress

The Fire Department continues to record the damage caused by big fire yesterday in Panorama Voulawhile all forces remain in the area in case of resurgence.

According to the fire brigade, the damage to property is located only in the area of ​​Ano Voula, where so far damage has been recorded in ten buildings, while a car and a motorcycle have been completely burned and two other private cars were damaged. The biggest problems are located on Ektoros, Aristidou, Thessaly, Armatolon and Lamia streets, from where the residents were evacuated in time yesterday afternoon. Most houses, as reported by the PS, have been damaged externallyin masonry, gardens, fenced garden furniture, gutters, awnings, pergolas and solar water heaters, but in a house on Armatolon Street the fire broke out and caused serious damage to the ground floor and the 1st floor, while the next door burned down. the plasters outside and the garden living room was destroyed.

The counting by the fire brigade has not been completed and is continuing, while a parallel counting is being done by the municipality and the Region, in order to have an accurate list of the destructions from the fire.
