For at least two years, it is alleged that the 73-year-old relative abused the 12-year-old in a house and warehouse he maintained in the area of ​​Sykea, in Thessaloniki.

The announcement of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki about the incident:

Police officers of the Juvenile Protection Sub-Directorate of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, in the context of a police investigation, filed a case against a 73-year-old citizen, following a complaint for indecent acts against a minor.

The case file concerns the offenses of sexual intercourse with minors or in front of them and the abuse of minors, on an ongoing basis.

Specifically, according to the complaint, the 73-year-old man, a person of the wider relative of the minor, for at least the last two years, was committing indecent acts against her, in a house and warehouse that he maintained in the area of ​​Sykea.

On the occasion of this incident and the courage of the minor to face it, The General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki states that it is present and reminds that there are ways for a person who has experienced a similar behavior to be able to manage it.

• You can contact people in your supportive environment, a mental health professional or one of the psychosocial support lines / structures to gain strength, overcome your fears and break free from the situation you are in.

• Keep in mind that people have asked for help and reported such acts

• Consider that by reporting – reporting the acts against you, you are protecting other people from the same perpetrator or other potential perpetrators.
