The Greek artist The Krank created “FOOTPRINT” with a canvas of the earth.
The Greek artist The Krank wants to touch the effects of human actions with his work for this year’s Paxos Biennale. The artist with canvas earth created a giant footprint covering an area of one thousand square meters near the beach in Mogonisi.
The “ecological footprint” FOOTPRINT now adorns the island of Paxos, showing that humanity does more harm than good to nature.
As he writes on Instagram, he worked on it for 15 days. “My art sheds light on the urgent need for a balance between economic growth, social prosperity and environmental protection, as the coronavirus pandemic and the global energy crisis continue to cast their shadow over the discussions on global sustainable development”notes The Krank.
The Paxos Biennale lasts from June 7 to October 31 this year, providing the opportunity for residents and visitors of Paxos to see free works of contemporary art (sculptures, photographs, murals, installations and performances). It started in 2018 and its goal is to highlight the work of young artists, based on the beautiful Ionian island.
