Plevris in SKAI: Coronavirus summer wave expected – No measures needed

There will be a plan from September as cases of cases are expected to rise and depending on the pressure that will be exerted, “many (measures) may need to be activated but nothing may be activated”, the Minister of Health stressed.

The forecasts of the models run by the experts show a summer wave of coronavirus, as the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris stressed on SKAI TV and the show “Simera”. He explained, however, that there does not appear to be any pressure on the Health System to take restrictive measures.

“In all the models we run, they do not show dynamics that will push the health system so that we need to take measures. Cases as cases, are a chapter. The question is whether they are converted into hospitalizations. “Obviously there will be more but there does not seem to be pressure dynamics of the health system”, he stressed characteristically.

For the increase of cases that has been observed lately, Mr. Plevris stressed that it is due to mobility but also to mutations that are more contagious.

He explained that due to the contagion of the specific strains of the coronavirus “the restrictive measures are meaningless”.

He called on vulnerable citizens to take self-protection measures and those who wish to proceed with the fourth dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
