A court ruling is expected on the sentences of those convicted.

Innocent the former governor was judged Rena Dourou and others twelve defendants for the deadly flood in Mandra in 2017 with 25 deadwhile the majority of others eight defendants were found guilty.
The court, after many months of proceedings, unanimously acquitted the twelve defendants for all the criminal acts that led them to the bench. As far as Rena Dourou is concerned, the court unanimously acquitted her of the offense of breach of duty and by a majority of two votes to one, also innocent of the acts of flood by negligence, homicide and negligent bodily harm.
On the contrary, the judges by a majority found eight defendants guilty among which two vice-governors the then mayor of Mandra, foremen and executives of town planning and stream policing. The guilt of the specific accused concerns on a case-by-case basis the offenses of flood, homicide and bodily harm, while they were also unanimously acquitted for the breach of duty.
The process continues and the court decision on the sentences is expected within the day to be imposed on defendants found guilty.
