EL.AS conducts a sworn administrative examination for the 33-year-old police officer who was arrested as a participant with a leading role in a cocaine circuit
A Sworn Administrative Examination was ordered by the Hellenic Police Headquarters against the police officer arrested for the crimes of the criminal organization and violations of the drug legislation.
The 33-year-old police officer, according to the Hellenic Police, has been made available.
It is recalled that 4 members of the criminal organization were arrested, including the 33-year-old police officer, and a case was filed against them for – on a case-by-case basis – the crimes of the criminal organization and violations of the drug legislation.
In addition, the case file includes another 4 people for drug trafficking and 37 people for drug supply, who were not arrested as the conditions of the highway were not met.
According to the months-long and systematic investigation, the members of the organization, at least since September 2021, formed and joined it by trafficking (supply, storage, possession, sale, etc.) of drugs (exclusively cocaine), in southern suburbs of Attica. In particular, they committed at least (162) cases of cocaine trafficking, earning benefits of at least € 5,340.
How they acted
Regarding the methodology of action (modus operandi) of the criminal organization and the distinct roles of each member, it was found that:
- The leading member of the organization, who is a police officer in the Attica Service, was in charge of searching and supplying drugs.
- Another member of the organization undertook the storage of drugs in a store he maintains in the southern suburbs of Attica.
- The other two members of the organization were in charge of further distributing the drugs to the end users.
- They chose busy places for the purchase and sale of drugs and mainly outdoor parking lots of department stores in the southern suburbs, while sometimes they also supplied their “customers” “at home”.
- In fact, the members of the criminal organization used coded phrases in the context of their communications, in order not to understand the content of their conversations:
The code names of the organization
- drugs: “socks”, “cigars”, “skewers”, “small”, “Coca Cola”, “subject”
- quantities of cocaine: “hour”, “minute”, “eight”, “pieces”, “measure”, “books”, “subscription”, “rock”, “stick”, “game”
- cocaine quality: ‘good boy’,
- money: “shoes”,
- purchase on a ‘credit’ basis: ‘air’.
The dismantling of the criminal organization took place in the context of a coordinated police operation, in the afternoon hours of Thursday, June 16, 2022, during which two of its members were arrested in the open parking lot of a department store in the southern suburbs while buying and selling drugs. in their possession and confiscated 1.08 grams of cocaine and the amount of 110 euros.
What was found in the investigations
In the ensuing searches of homes and vehicles, a total of were found and confiscated:
- 2 cars,
- 29.15 grams of cocaine,
- 2.57 grams of hemp,
- 3 electronic precision scales,
- 9 syringes,
- substances suitable for counterfeiting drugs,
- number of vials with unknown substances,
- drug smoking device,
- 13 mobile phones,
- € 8,040 and $ 700,
- 3 bank safe keys,
- 2 laptops,
- number of electronic data storage media (USB – stick),
- number of handwritten notes and
- red and blue plastic electric lamp, similar to those used by official vehicles.
- The confiscated vehicles will be handed over for safekeeping to the Public Material Management Directorate (DDDY), the confiscated drugs will be sent to the General State Chemist and the money will be sent to the Deposits and Loans Fund.
Those arrested with the case file against them are taken to the competent Prosecutor’s Office.
