Another accident occurred in a playground in the municipality of Chalkidona. This time, the victim was one little girl 6 years oldwhich reportedly tried to get out of the railings surrounding the playground, which, however, brought a padlock at its entrance.
As the president of the Association of Parents and Guardians and president of Primary and Secondary Education of the municipality of Chalkidona complains to GRTimes, Stella Valsamaki«There may be a padlock at the entrance, but there is no sign prohibiting entry, nor is there a safety net to prevent children from entering, with many of them jumping over the railings and entering the playgrounds.».
According to Ms. Valsamaki, this is how the above accident happened. «The 6-year-old had entered the playground and in her attempt to get out of it, she fell and broke her arm.».
The playgrounds of the municipality of Chalkidona were opened (?) Yesterday (17/6)
We remind you that from the middle of May, the 14 playgrounds of the municipality, as well as the additional 15 that are being built in the area, remain closed.
On May 20, GRTimes brought to light the accident of a 10-year-old who was injured in a playground in Koufaliawith the mayor of the area then conveying that a few days after the injury of the minor the playgrounds of the area were sealed, in order to carry out maintenance work.
«We carry out work in order to obtain the operating certificates. We found that there were some details that needed to be fixed, so we wanted to be perfectly legal. The playgrounds will open within the next ten days“, Mr. Anagnostopoulos had reported to GRTimes.
The playgrounds in the area, however, remained closed until recently. In a post on June 17, however, the mayor of the area stated, among other things, that “the necessary works have been completed in all the playgrounds of the municipality of Chalkidonos and are delivered for use today after the relevant inspections of the Municipality Appropriateness Committee, in order to play and for children to play sports in a safe and modern environment “.
Residents of the area, however, seem to have a different view. As you will see in a photo available to GRTimes and taken on June 18, a municipal playground remains closed. In addition, another user, by posting on a social networking site, “uploads” photos with the padlock at the entrance of another playground in the area:
GRTimes tried to contact the mayor of Chalkidona, Stavros Anagnostakis, but also the deputy mayor of Technical Works, Zisis Vainas, but this was not possible.
