He was the host the Conservative MP and Chairman of the Inter-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Greece Alberto Costa.
The “present” gave Minister of Culture, Digital Media, Media and Sports Nandin Doris, Undersecretary of Culture and Tourism Nigel Handlestone and Undersecretary of Health Edward Argar.
Mr. Handlestone stated that “we have strong relations with Greece, cultural and other ties and of course it is a popular tourist destination.” He added that “it is important that we strengthen our relations in this way.”
It is estimated based on bookings so far that arrivals from Britain this year will be close to the record of 3.7 million arrivals in 2019.
The Undersecretary of Tourism also praised Greek food, as did Alberto Costa.
The Greek MP said that the event is part of his role as President of the APPG to promote bilateral relations.
THE Greek ambassador Ioannis Raptakis He said the event was an attempt to combine tourism with gastronomy, something helped by Alberto Costa and Greek businessmen. He stressed that this year there are many Britons who say they will prefer holidays in Greece, including many of those who attended the event.
