Bad weather is hitting Attica. At the moment we have storms in the Northern Suburbs but also in the center of Athens.
The torrential rain that sweeps the basin, caused traffic jams on the roads. The problems are located throughout the basin but mainly in Athens, Chalandri, Psychiko, Moschato, Tavros and Elefsina. The center has received few flood calls so far.
Due to the heavy rain, the traffic was stopped in Aspropyrgos, in the Peripheral Refinery, from the height of the Refineries to Neoktista and in the two traffic streams, as well as in the provincial road Megaron-Alepochori, from the 15th to the 18th kilometer, which was restored.
According to EMY forecast, The bad weather will continue in the coming days due to the atmospheric traffic over Europe and the movement of the torrent.
From the afternoon and gradually from west to east the effects will weaken, except in the northwestern and northeastern parts, where local rains and thunderstorms will continue during the evening.
