A dramatic story is hidden behind the death of a 72-year-old woman and her 50-year-old son, whose bodies were pulled out of a car that fell into the sea on Monday afternoon, in Neoi Epivates, Thessaloniki.

Information from Thestival states that the people were handcuffed to each other, while they were also handcuffed to the steering wheel of the car. In addition, it seems that they had tied sacks of sand on them.

The tragic event took place around 15:00, in Neos Epivates. According to eyewitnesses, the car, while moving on the coastal road, stopped for a while and then the driver pressed the accelerator and threw the car into the sea.

Officers of the Coast Guard, EMAK, the Police and the Fire Brigade who arrived at the scene, set up an operation to free the people and retrieve the car from the seabed.
