Massive animals, with the characteristic hump at the top of their spine, are best known to most of us as Native Americans, a sacred symbol of the Indians. The bison is unpredictable and independent in spirit
A wild bison attacked a man and his family, who ended up injured in hospital.
It all happened on Monday, June 27, when the 34-year-old man and his family were walking on a sidewalk in Yellowstone National Park. Apparently, the family got a little closer than they should to the bison, who attacked them … throwing the man and the child to the ground.
Officials revealed that the man was injured in his hand and was taken to hospital for first aid. Park officials say this is the second time this year that a visitor has come so close to a bison that he has been injured.
Massive animals, with the characteristic hump at the top of their spine, are best known to most of us as Native Americans, a sacred symbol of the Indians. The bison is unpredictable and independent in spirit.
Visitors to the vast park must stay 25 meters away from all large animals. Bison are wild animals that respond to threats by displaying aggressive behavior: Hitting their hooves on the ground, making noises, shaking their heads and raising their tails. If these do not remove the threat (in this case it was human), an endangered bison can attack.
