The high level of dispersion of SARS-CoV-2 in Thessaloniki is reflected in the last measurements of the week in municipal waste, according to the research conducted by the Sewage Epidemiology Team of AUTh with EYATH, in collaboration with the Region of Central Macedonia and within the National Network of EODY.
As shown in the charts presented by APE-MPE, the mild upward trend of the previous days continues and on Thursday 25/11 a new higher viral load value was measured from the beginning of the pandemic.
Specifically, in the samples taken daily at the entrance of the Thessaloniki Wastewater Treatment Plant, regarding the rationalized values of relative viral load secretion, the average value of the two most recent measurements, ie Wednesday 24/11 and Thursday 25/11 is:
Marginally constant (+ 10%) in relation to the average value of the two immediately preceding measurements of Monday 22/11 and Tuesday 23/11.
-Increased (+ 32%) compared to the average price of the previous Wednesday 17/11 and Thursday 18/11.
The coronavirus assessment methodology in municipal waste, developed by the AUTh team, streamlines the measurements of the virus genome concentration based on 24 environmental factors, which may alter the results of the measurements.
