Plevris: In the next fortnight announcement for 700 recruitments of doctors

The announcement of the 700 positions that will concern the recruitment of doctors will be announced in the next fortnight, said the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris from Crete.

Within the next fortnight, their announcement will be issued seven hundred seats for medical staffwhile at the same time, together with the Deputy Minister of Health, the possibilities arising from the Recovery Fund are being worked out.

This was emphasized by the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris, continuing his tour in Crete.

“What has been asked of nurses from the nursing structures of Heraklion has been assessed and in fact these announcements are with increased scoring, for nurses who already serve in the health system as assistants and were throughout the pandemic,” said Mr. Plevris who visited the Venizelio Hospital and the University Hospital of Heraklion, making contacts with the administrations of the hospital institutions, in the presence of the Commander of the 7th Ministry of Health of Crete Lena Borboudaki.

Mr. Plevris, who was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Sports Lefteris Avgenakis, the ND MP Maximos Senetakis and party officials, referred to the announcement of the four thousand nurses, explaining that he has already gone for posting to ASEP.

“What has been asked of nurses from the nursing structures of Heraklion has been assessed and in fact these announcements are with increased scoring, for nurses who already serve in the health system as assistants and were throughout the pandemic,” said Mr. Plevris added that within the next fortnight, the announcement of the seven hundred positions for medical staff will be issued, while at the same time, together with the Deputy Minister of Health, the possibilities arising from the Recovery Fund are being worked out.

“The recovery fund is an amount of 350 million euros for hospitals and 250 million for primary care, so in total the structures will be upgraded in terms of buildings and logistics,” said Mr. Plevris, who added that this plan also applies to two hospitals in Heraklion.

Regarding the pandemic, he reiterated that with the data so far, the existing planning can be continued and that which intervention with new measures will be made from September onwards, but with targeted and not horizontal measures, which will be addressed mainly to vulnerable groups. .

Regarding the vaccination of citizens under 60 years of age, Mr. Plevris stated that because there is not enough scientific data, it is not recommended by the committee, but the platform opens “because every case of a person is different and vaccination is decided based on the clinic adding, however, that the problem identified concerns the ECDC, which has not yet been adequately addressed with a recommendation for all European Union countries.

“We hope that this will be done soon, so that there are no malfunctions,” the health minister added.

Regarding the health professionals, Thanos Plevris stated that after two and a half years of COVID, but also pressure on non Covid cases, as well as surgeries, they are tired and that for this reason, through the announcements that will be issued, the vacancies are being filled. .

“We are not improving things, the staff is under pressure, however we hope with the interventions that are made that we can quickly de-escalate the situation,” added Mr. Plevris.

The Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis, in his statements, referred to the very fast -as he characterized- reflexes of the Ministry of Health for issues related to sports, adding that in addition to being immediate, they were also effective.

At the entrance of PAGNI, employees of the hospital were gathered, protesting against the shortages in the field of health, demanding, among other things, the recruitment of permanent staff.
