“The Karakoukis – Kalogria report is well detailed, it leaves no room for the type and cause of death” clarified the medical examiner
Death Malenas and Iris is a criminal act the medical examiner categorically stated to SKAI Eleni Spanoudaki based on the findings of the conclusion of medical examiners Nikos Karakoukis and Nikos Kalogrias.
“The Karakoukis – Kalogria report is well detailed, it leaves no room for the type and cause of death” clarified the medical examiner. “The death, or poisoning, (pharmaceutical/toxic substance) of Malena and Iris is not pathological. So the cause of death is suffocationand the type of death is a criminal act,” said Ms. Spanoudaki.
“There are findings in Malena that are considered, such as pulmonary edema and degeneration of liver cells, and there are also findings in Iris suggestive of hypoxia, such as anoxia in the brain,” he explained.
“The findings were there, all the findings were simply taken into account, we should not dwell on one finding” she emphasized when asked why the criminal act was not established by the previous medical examiners who had examined the children’s bodies.
Eleni Spanoudaki explained about the violent death by suffocation that the victim loses consciousness in 1 to 2 minutes and in 3 to 4 minutes it dies. “We are talking about irreversible damage to the brain,” he emphasized.
