More than 130 firefighters with four groups of infantry divisions and about 45 vehicles are still fighting the flames in Ilia, in order to keep the fire front away from residential areas.
A message via 112 was sent to all those who are in Kotrona or Karagianneika and in Dalamboureika Ilias to evacuate immediately to Agrapidochori due to an ongoing forest fire.
The message reads: “If you are in Kotrona or Karagianneika and Dalamboureika Ilias evacuate now to Agrapidochori. Forest fire in your area. Follow the instructions of the authorities. Protection instructions: https://bit.ly/32VyYzm””.

Speaking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, the deputy governor of Ilias Vassilis Giannopoulos said “the intensity of the winds has decreased, which helps the work of the firefighters”.
In the meantime, with the first light of day, aerial means are expected to start dropping water, while according to the fire risk prediction map today, the regional unit of Ilia is in the very high risk category.
