The fire in Fokida that started yesterday from Eleonas is raging on three fronts and is moving towards Itea, Sernikaki and Chrissos.
Shortly before midnight, the evacuation of North Itea by its residents was completed. They were taken by buses to hotels in Delphi where they will stay overnight for security reasons.
In addition to the precautionary evacuation of the northern part of Itea, i.e. that which is above the national road Itea – Nafpaktos, traffic has been prohibited from the 57th kilometer to the 64th kilometer on the Amfissa – Livadeia road as the situation is particularly dangerous from the fronts of fire and smoke.
To extinguish the fire, more than 150 firefighters with 48 vehicles and four groups of pedestrian units are working, while the mobile operational center “Olympos” is also in the area.
With the first light of the day, aerial fire fighting means will also attempt.
Firefighting forces from all over Central Greece are being brought to the area and by decision of the Fire Headquarters all the forces of Central Greece have been put on alert.

The fire that broke out yesterday late afternoon in a forest area in the Korakia area in Kranidi Argolida is also ongoing.
A nearby hotel was evacuated and damaged.
As he reported, speaking to the Athens News Agency, the mayor of Hermionida, Yiannis Georgopoulos, “there is a fire right next to a large hotel unit in the area and the fire brigade is trying to contain the fire”.
Regarding the occupants of the hotel, he noted that “they were removed in time and transferred to other hotels, while those on the beach were transferred, by sea, to other hotel units”.
63 firefighters with 18 vehicles and three pedestrian units are working to extinguish the fire.
