According to an announcement by the DG Anti-Criminal Policy, the Secretary General, Konstantinos Papathanasiou, proceeded to take immediate disciplinary measures on the occasion of the video.
Specifically, it proceeded to:
1. Urgent disciplinary and preliminary examination of the incident that took place on July 7, 2022, evening hours, at the Korydallos I Detention Center, which was forwarded to the Piraeus First Instance Prosecutor’s Office.
2. Immediate investigation of two specific wards (G and F) related to the incident and in which three (3) mobile phone devices were found and confiscated.
3. Immediate removal and replacement of the staff who were responsible for the guarding and supervision of the Shop premises in question.
The General Secretariat of Anti-Criminal Policy does not tolerate illegal actions in the Detention Centers and observes the rules of the penal policy, exactly as they are defined by the Constitution and the laws.
