Greece at the National Geographic Traveler Food Festival exhibition in London

According to the organizers, the exhibition is aimed at an audience who are lovers of gastronomy and interested in culture and luxury travel.

With the aim of promoting alternative forms of tourism, Greece will participate on the weekend of July 16 and 17 in the exhibition “National Geographic Traveler Food Festival” in London, organized by the magazine National Geographic Traveller.

“The participation of the EOT in this targeted exhibition is part of the tourism strategy to promote Greece through unique culinary experiences, in order to encourage prospective travelers to choose Greece as an ideal holiday destination”, its head pointed out to the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency UK and Ireland EOT office, Eleni Skarveli. As Mrs. Skarveli mentioned, “the British public loves Greek cuisine and our goal is for visitors to the exhibition to enrich their knowledge and tastes with local products and recipes that will make them travel to Greece”.

According to the organizers, the exhibition is aimed at an audience who are lovers of gastronomy and interested in culture and luxury travel. It is estimated that more than 6,000 people will visit it. Among others, major British tourism businesses from the catering industry as well as national tourism organizations will participate. It is also noteworthy that its program includes cooking seminars and workshops that will be held by internationally renowned chefs.

Greece will participate with two stands. In these, representatives of the Greek destinations will give visitors the opportunity to taste local dishes and taste Greek varieties of wine. At the same time, EOT has secured one of the two theaters for the cooking workshops. There, Greek chefs will present local products and recipes from various Greek destinations in a total of seven events.

The Greek participation will be supported by the Region of Crete with its chefs Aldemar which will also participate with its action Symposiumthe Northern Aegean Region with the chef Argyro Barbarigou, the South Aegean Region with chefs from Mitsis hotels and Thessaloniki designated by UNESCO as a city of gastronomy. The winner of Master chef UK 2019 will also participate, Irini Tzorgzoglouand the chef Telemachos Argyriou.

The exhibition will be visited on both days by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sofia Zaharaki.
