Social Tourism: Applications for retired professionals begin July 13

Starts tomorrow, Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 08:00, the electronics submission of applications beneficiaries and providers for the new social tourism program of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) which is addressed exclusively to retired freelancers (formerly OAEE).

The program is about 25,000 checks and the total budget amounts to 3 million euros.

As stated in a DYPA announcement, with the new program internal tourism is further strengthened and another category of beneficiaries is added to DYPA’s social policy programs.

Beneficiaries of the program are pensioners of e-EFKA-former OAEE who have paid the corresponding contribution, amounting to 1 euro, for the specific benefit during the month of June 2022 (par. 5 of art. 69 of Law 3863/2010).

The applications of the interested beneficiaries will be submitted exclusively electronically, through the Unified Digital Portal of the Greek Government gov.gr, at the electronic address: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ergasia-kai-asphalise/apozemioseis-kai-parokhes/programmata-koinonikou-tourismou-gia-suntaxioukhous-eephka-proen-oaee.

Beneficiaries will be able to submit their applications exclusively on the dates in the table below according to the last digit of their VAT number and until 18/07/2022, at 23:59, when the platform will remain open for all VAT numbers.

• Last digit of VAT number: 1,2 – Application date: 13/07/2022
• Last digit of VAT number: 3,4 – Application date: 14/07/2022
• Last digit of VAT number: 5.6 – Application date: 15/07/2022
• Last digit of VAT number: 7.8 – Application date: 16/7/2022
• Last digit of VAT number: 9.0 – Application date: 17/7/2022
• All Digits – Application Date: 18/7/2022

The beneficiary selection system is based on the scoring of specific financial and family criteria, in an objective and transparent manner, using computer software.

Providers of the program are tourist accommodation and ferry companiesas defined in the Public Invitation, while providers who have also submitted an application for the 2022-2023 social tourism program, to which they have already attached the required supporting documents, need only submit a simple application and a relevant declaration.

Beneficiaries and beneficiaries can spend up to six nights in a tourist accommodation they choose from the “Register of Providers” of DYPA, after their direct consultation with the provider, by paying a small private contribution.

Especially for accommodation on the islands Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos and in the prefecture of Evros, up to 10 nights can be spent in the accommodations of the Municipalities of Istiaea-Edipsos and Mantoudi-Limni-Ag. Annas of N. Evia and the island of Samos up to 12 nights completely free.

In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidized.

The participation of the general category of beneficiaries amounts to 25%.

As pointed out in the announcement, increased subsidy prices also apply to the new program, which apply to all categories of accommodation, in order to cover the increased costs and ensure a large participation.

In addition, for the peak month of August, a 20% increase in the subsidy is foreseen, so that there is a greater participation of tourist businesses in this particular period.

The increase will be valid for the whole year for the accommodations of North Evia and Samos.
