The mayor of Pangaiou, Philippos Anastasiadis, reported to SKAI that the aircraft was carrying ammunition.
The aircraft went down shortly before 11 pm between Antifilippi and Paleochori Kavala.
It had taken off from Ukraine and before the cargo route from Serbia to Jordan, it had visited Turkey.
On the maps it is recorded to make a 180 degree turn, while flying over the sea near Mount Athos in the direction of Chrysoupoli.
However, it did not reach the airport and its signal was lost from the radar, as it went down in flames near the settlement of Paleochori.
