According to the lawsuit filed, the pregnant woman claims that doctors told her to go to another hospital because at Hippocrates the on-call would end.

Lawsuit against all responsible filed one couple from Thessaloniki asking for punishment for the death of their newborn child, as they accuse the doctors of not paying due attention when they went to the hospital because the duty.

Their Golgotha began on February 22, 2022, when the husband took his wife to the on-call Hippocrate hospital in Thessaloniki, with severe convulsions, pains and bleeding in her 39th week of pregnancy.

At 7:20 a.m., according to the lawsuit filed, the woman was examined by a medical specialist. All the necessary tests were done on the woman about to give birth, however, as the couple claims, the doctor asked them to go to “Papageorgiou” because the on-call ended at 8:00.

It is noted that the woman about to give birth was suffering from coronavirus, without having any symptoms.

In their own vehicle, they went to the “Papageorgiou” hospital, where they did not admit her to the gynecology clinic, as she was suffering from coronavirus, so she entered the covid clinic. She then went in for a caesarean section. The boy she gave birth to was without a pulse and was admitted to the ICU. On June 21, the newborn expired and the couple today is asking for justice. According to them, precious time was lost, about 3.5 hours, while her life was also in danger.

THE President of POEDIN, Michalis Giannakos speaking to OPEN he noted that “The doctors examined her normally, this is also evident from the files kept by the hospital, a cardiotocogram was also performed on the child and an ultrasound, they found that there is no reason for a premature pregnancy or any other problem and advised her to go home or, if there is a problem in an on-call hospital. This is the update”. Fill in that “The prosecutor’s investigation is ongoing, it has already been communicated to the hospital because of the indictment, the hospital will submit a conclusion and the data to the prosecutor’s office, the incident should definitely be investigated and, if there are responsibilities, assigned. However, let’s not connect the incident with Patras. We have a hospital on call here, the doctors were involved in the incident and tests were done”.

The lawyer of the family, Charalambos Apostolidis, also spoke at OPEN. “An interest in the 39th week visits Hippocrates. There, on duty, they do an ultrasound on her, they find bleeding. They are also supposed to do a cardiotocogram which was only a cardiogram because the tocogram shows the contractions of the uterus with a black line, I don’t know if it was inserted afterwards or the machine was simply broken and they tell her “you know, in half an hour the on duty, leave, go elsewhere”. “Where to go;” “Papageorgiou starts at eight o’clock”. Which takes half an hour to go from the central part of Thessaloniki. And they don’t even give her an ambulance”.

When asked if the doctors found bleeding in Hippocrates, Mr. Apostolidis answered in the affirmative. “They had to immediately put her in and take the child from her by caesarean section”, he said. “They didn’t do it, the woman arrived at 8 o’clock in Papageorgiou. And there was no immediate intervention, because she finally gave birth around 11 o’clock. First they put her in a covid clinic and until they decided to perform a caesarean, a child was born with hypoxemic encephalopathy who was intubated and, for three months, despite the tireless efforts of the ICU doctors, remained intubated and died 10-15 days ago. From 7:00 a.m. when she came to Hippocrates, until 7:30 a.m. when she was expelled and until she gave birth, three, three and a half hours passed. The child would have been saved.”
