Weekend weather: 43 degrees and prolonged heatwave in Attica as well

In a prolonged period heatwave enters from Weekend the country, with the mercury even touching them 43 degrees Celsius in some areas. The very high temperatures are expected to last even until the end of July, while for Attica in particular, the forecast “shows” the mercury “nailed” at 40 degrees and above, with the only way out is the north wind that will blow and soften somewhat the atmosphere.

Maximum temperatures will reach their peak on Sunday and a slight drop is expected from Monday. However, temperatures will remain high, either close to 40 or above 40, especially in Attica, for many days, which will greatly burden the situation. THE Civil Protection has given instructions to deal with the prolonged heat, asking citizens to avoid heavy work, exposure to the sun, especially at midday, and drinking plenty of fluids.

Generally clear weather, with local clouds in the continental areas at noon and in the afternoon. Winds will blow from north directions 3 to 5 and in the Aegean 6 and temporarily during the warm hours of the day 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise slightly and its maximum values ​​will range in the mainland around 39 to 40 degrees, while due to local conditions (microclimate, low winds) and especially in areas inside the mainland that are not affected by sea breezes, the temperature will reach 41 to 42 degrees Celsius.

More specifically, areas of central Macedonia, Thessaly, Sterea and Peloponnese will be affected. In the Ionian Islands, the Dodecanese and southern Crete it will reach 35 to 37 degrees, while in the rest of the island country it will be 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.
