The image of the fire in the Dadia Forest, which has been burning for the sixth consecutive day, has improved.
According to the latest updates, fire is in progress and all forces remain on increased vigilance especially regarding the southwest side towards Lefkimi. The concern is focused on the event that the wind direction changes.
Great and coordinated efforts are being made, despite the difficulties and the difficult terrain of the area, to open a fire zone. The loggers have already carved it.
At the moment there is no reason to remove the population from Lefkimi. As a precaution, the National Highway exits will be closed. A coach will be on standby in case it needs to transport people.
According to the Forestry Services the areas that are important for the fauna (A1 zone) have not been affected.

Sta Krestena Ilia: The condition is very good. The fire has been contained and there is only smoke. Work will continue in the evening for a full inspection. In the morning, the situation will be assessed and, depending on the needs, air will be used.
Sta Grevena, Tsakatura area: The fire continues to burn in an area inaccessible from the ground (high altitude, steep slope). For the fifth day it has an area of ​​50 acres. In the morning, an AB214 will attempt and, if necessary, an Mi8.
According to Fire Hazard Prediction Map issued by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, for tomorrow, a very high risk of fire (risk category 4) is predicted for the following areas: Region of Attica, Region of Central Greece, Region of the North Aegean, Region of the South Aegean.
