Metro: Traffic arrangements due to works for Line 4 – Which roads are affected

In temporary traffic arrangements due to construction work on metro line 4 of Athens proceeds Traffic policeinforming drivers of the changes.

More specifically:

Due to the execution of works, during the period from 31.07.2022 to 15.10.2022 and throughout the 24 hours, the following traffic regulations will be implemented in the following road sections, area of ​​the Municipality of Athens, as follows:

PHASE 1

Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to two (2) on Akadimias street and for a length of approximately 60.0 m. at the height of Patriarchou Grigoriou with occupation of the left side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Prohibition of the stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the road surface of Akadimias Street and in the part thereof determined by the height of Hippokratous Street and until the end of the construction site occupation.

PHASE 2

Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to two (2) on Akadimias Street and for a length of approximately 60.0 m. at the height of Patriarchou Grigoriou by occupying the right side of the roadway in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Prohibition of the stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the road surface of Akadimias Street and in the part thereof determined by the height of Hippokratous Street and until the end of the construction site occupation.

PHASE 3A

Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to two (2) on Akadimias Street in the section between Ippokratous and Asklipiou Streets and for a length of approximately 7.0 m after Riga Feraiu Street with occupation of the right side of the roadway during the movement of vehicles.
Limitation of the width of the road surface to approximately 5.50 m. of Riga Feraiu Street and for a length of approximately 50.0 m. up to its junction with Akadimias Street by occupying the right side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Total blockade of K. Palamas Street in its section from Riga Feraiu Street to Patriarchou Grigoriou Street.
Prohibition of the stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the road surface of Akadimias Street and in the part thereof determined by the height of Hippokratous Street and until the end of the construction site occupation.

PHASE 3B

Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to two (2) on Akadimias Street in the section between Ippokratous and Asklipiou Streets and for a length of approximately 7.0 m after Riga Feraiu Street with occupation of the right side of the roadway in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Limitation of the width of the road surface to approximately 5.50 m. of Riga Feraiu Street and for a length of approximately 50.0 m. up to its junction with Akadimias Street by occupying the right side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Total blockade of K. Palamas Street in its section from Riga Feraiu Street to Patriarchou Grigoriou Street.
Limitation of the width of Patriarchou Grigoriou and for a length of approximately 30.0 m. up to its junction with Akadimias street by occupying the right side in the direction of Akadimias.
Prohibition of the stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the road surface of Akadimias Street and in the part thereof determined by the height of Hippokratous Street and until the end of the construction site occupation.

PHASE 4

Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to two (2) on Akadimias Street in the section between Ippokratous and Asklipiou Streets and for a length of approximately 12.0 m after Asklipiou Street by occupying the left side of the roadway by the direction of movement of vehicles.
Prohibition of the stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the road surface of Akadimias Street and in the part thereof determined by the height of Hippokratous Street and until the end of the construction site occupation.

PHASE 5

Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four to two (2) on Akadimias street from the height of the Marseilles pedestrian street and for a length of approximately 100.0 m. with the occupation of the left side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Asklipiou Street to approximately 3.00 m. by occupying the left side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Prohibition of the stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the road surface of Akadimias Street and in the part thereof determined by the height of Hippokratous Street and until the end of the construction site occupation.

PHASE 6

Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to two (2) on Akadimias Street from the height of the Marseilles pedestrian street and for a length of approximately 90.0 m. by occupying the right side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Gradual reduction of the width of the road surface of Asklipiou Street to approximately 2.75 m. by occupying the right side of the road surface in the direction of movement of vehicles.
Prohibition of the stopping and parking of vehicles on both sides of the road surface of Akadimias Street and in the part thereof determined by the height of Hippokratous Street and until the end of the construction site occupation.
Drivers of vehicles are requested to be particularly careful when passing through the work sites and to follow the existing road markings.
