“He had head compression, neck compression, chest compression. The entire upper half of the body, i.e. head, neck and chest, was compressed,” said the medical examiner, Eleni Zagelidou.
The death was sudden for the 26-year-old in Serres who in the early hours of last Sunday in his attempt to go down to the ground floor of the apartment building where he lived with the elevator a refrigerator was crushed by it.
According to the conclusion of the autopsy conducted by the medical examiner Eleni Zagelidou, the “his death was almost instantaneous” as he had “broken neck too”, while the refrigerator compressed him from the chest up.
“He had head compression, neck compression, chest compression. The entire upper half of the body, i.e. head, neck and thorax, was compressedhe said to Voria.gr Mrs. Zagelidou.
The elevator did not have a door between the canopy and the shaft and apparently at some point during its movement the refrigerator wedged itself into the wall, crushing it while the elevator was still in motion.
“He put the refrigerator in the elevator, it did not have a guard and eventually the 26-year-old got wedged between the refrigerator and the moving elevator“, said Mrs. Zagelidou.
“His death was almost instantaneous as he also had a fractured neck“, write down.
The unfortunate 26-year-old worked as a distributor in Serres and friends and relatives describe him as a particularly loved child. On the fateful night he went to his house, together with a friend, in order to move the refrigerator to his new home.
His funeral will take place this afternoon in his hometown, Chrysoupoli, Kavala.
