The acoustic superiority of the new Peugeot 308

The new FOCAL® Premium Hi-Fi system that equips the new Peugeot 308 was designed in collaboration with Focal, a French brand specializing in high definition acoustics. The system is the result of a collaboration lasting more than 4 years. Integrated into the Peugeot i-cockpit® of the new 308, it delivers a unique audio experience, combining the enjoyment of absolutely clear sound with high-fidelity driving.

The Peugeot and FOCAL teams worked together to define the location of each speaker, with the aim of offering all passengers an exceptional audio experience. The teams conducted a study of strategic points (determine issues such as doors, grilles, decoration, polishing) so that performance is guaranteed in the passenger cabin. Nothing has been left to chance regarding the structure of the boot section, which houses the subwoofer. The sound is accurate and stable inside the cabin, voices are clear and detailed and the bass is deep.

French manufacturing philosophy, high technology and innovation connect Peugeot and FOCAL: the two companies share the same desire to offer intense sensations, improved performance and rare emotions – the pleasure of listening to music while driving, thanks to a high-quality installation, the which has been perfectly integrated into the car.
The collaboration between the two companies began in 2014 and began with concept cars. It was extended to the brand’s production cars in 2008, 3008, 5008, 508 and 508 SW.

For more than 40 years, Focal has established itself as a reference brand in the manufacture of high-fidelity speakers for the home, monitors for recording studios, headphones and audiovisual systems for cars and ships. Peugeot asked the FOCAL team to use their knowledge of acoustics as well as their development and research on the latest in sound innovation.
