28 lighthouses of the country open to the public on Sunday

World Lighthouse Day is celebrated every year on the third Sunday of August.

Citizens will have the opportunity to learn about the contribution of lighthouses to the safety of navigation, the utilization of the lighthouse network as cultural heritage, as well as the contribution of lighthouse keepers to the operation of the said network, as part of their visit in 28 lighthouses of the country, on Sunday, August 21, on the occasion of the celebration of World Lighthouse Day.

As announced by the Navy, on Sunday, August 21, the public will be able to visit the lighthouses from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in:

1. Ag. Nikolaos – Kea
2. Akrotiri – Thira
3. Arkitsa – Fthiotida
4. Mudari – Kythira
5. Vrysaki – Lavrio
6. Gerogombo – Kefalonia
7. Pig – Skopelos
8. Drepano – Chania
9. Kastri – Othoni
10. Keri – Zakynthos
11. Skinari – Zakynthos
12. Kranai – Gythio
13. Megalo Embolo – Thessaloniki
14. Melagavi – Loutraki
15. Plaka – Lemnos
16. Koraka – Paros
17. Redfish – Fish
18. Alexandroupolis – Alexandroupolis
19. Tainaro – Laconia
20. Kopraina – Arta
21. Bad Head – Chalkida
22. Monemvasia – Laconia
23. Lakka – Paxos
24. Vasilina – Evia
25. Pappa-Ikaria
26. Sword – Serifus
27. Dukato – Lefkada
28. Katakolo – Ilia.
