Communications, forward maneuvers and Search And Rescue (SAR) items were carried out during joint exercises of Fleet ships with the French frigate FS GUEPRATTE and with units of the Cyprus Naval Command, respectively, held on Thursday 4 August.

In particular, the first PASSEX (Passing Exercise) type joint training was conducted in the wider sea area south of the port of Marseille with the participation of the French frigate and the Greek frigate (F/C) KANARIS and the General Support Vessel (GUS) PROMITHEAS.

158 sea cadets, eight students from other military schools (two from the Evelpida Military School, two from the Icaron School, two from the Military Corps Officers School and two from the Nursing Officers School), as well as nine foreigners, are on board the ships of the Fleet in question. students (two from Bulgaria, two from Egypt, two from Romania, two from Italy and one from Portugal), as part of the annual Summer Training Program (STP) of the Naval Cadet School (NSD).

The second joint training was carried out in the wider sea area south of the port of Limassol, under the coordination of the Coordination Center for Search and Rescue (KSED) of the Republic of Cyprus and participated from the Greek side the tanker (A/C) IKARIA and from Cyprus the Coastal Patrol ( PP) GEORGIOU and AMMOCHOSTOS, the General Support Ship (GSS) ALASIA and an AW-139 helicopter of the 460th Search-Rescue squadron.

148 cadet junior officers, as well as four students from other military schools, are on board the tanker IKARIA, as part of the annual Summer Training Program (SEP) of the Permanent Naval Non-Commissioned Officers School (SMYN).
