To Prosecutor Rethymno was taken shortly after 7:00 on Monday afternoon 33 year old man from Anogiawho was arrested for the rape of a 32-year-old woman, who had gone with her group to the area to attend a music event.
As Cretalive wrote, the 33-year-old was also the one who took her to the Anogeia Health Center.
Outside the Rethymno Courthouse, according to rethnea.gr, members of the Feminist Solidarity of Heraklion had gathered, who raised a banner that said: “The rapists are to blame for the rapes – No one is alone”
According to Cretalive’s information, the woman with her 54-year-old partner and their company sat down after the event in a local tavern. At some point, the 33-year-old appeared and sat in the same company. The woman, as reported by the same information, a little while later felt unwell, also due to the alcohol.
Then the 33-year-old offered to take her to the local Health Center. When he left her there, the doctors who received her found some things that made them suspicious. Among other things, as reported, the 32-year-old was not wearing underwear.
The doctors were the ones who informed the police, as there were indications of a sexual act, without excluding rape.
Doctors also notified the woman’s partner.
The 33-year-old man was searched and arrested, while the 33-year-old woman from the Health Center was transferred to the Venizelio Hospital of Heraklion, for further examinations.
It should be noted that, according to Cretalive’s information, the 33-year-old allegedly admitted to the sexual act, claiming that it was done with the girl’s consent. In fact, he reportedly said that the whole group had consumed a quantity of alcohol and were intoxicated. Citing witnesses, he claimed that the 32-year-old showed an “amorous mood” towards him. Finally he mentioned that he took her to the Health Center but never left there.
