Eurostat: Commercial flights in the EU decreased in July, with the exception of Greece which increased

Contrary to the European trend, in Greece not only was there no decrease in the number of commercial flights, but a significant increase of 7%

According to the European Statistical Authority (Eurostat), and the relevant monthly report it publishes, in the European Union, with the exception of Greece, a significant decrease in the number of commercial flights has been recorded.

More specifically, commercial flights in July 2022 decreased by 15% compared to July 2019. Contrary to the European trend, in Greece not only was there no decrease in the number of commercial flights, but a significant increase of 7% .

The biggest decrease in the number of commercial flights is recorded in Slovenia (-41%), while it is surprising that a decrease is observed in the month of July and in traditionally popular destinations for the summer months, such as Italy (-9.5%), the Spain (-7.3%), France (-11.8%) and Malta (-12.1%).

As shown by the performance so far in terms of arrivals and revenues, Greek tourism is moving at full speed for a record year.
