More than 2,700 drivers were spotted driving under the alcohol influence, during checks carried out by the police in the eight prefectures of the Regions of Western Greece and Peloponnese, within the first seven months of 2022.

Breathalyzer controls
In particular, according to the official data of the police, presented by the Athenian – Macedonian News Agency, in the first seven months of 2022, the prefectures Achaia, Etoloakarnanias and Iliasher Region of Western Greeceapproximately 29,500 breathalyzers and 1,140 drivers under the influence of alcohol were detected.
In fact, the most violations, which reached 196, were confirmed last May and the fewest, i.e. 130, last March.
In the prefectures of Argolis, Arcadia, Corinthia, Laconia and Messinia, in the Peloponnese Region, more than 87,500 breathalyzer tests were carried out in the first seven months of 2022, during which approximately 1,600 drivers were found to be under the influence of alcohol.
The most violations, namely 482, were confirmed last April and the fewest, which reached 113, were recorded last January.

In the meantime, in the same context of police checks for the safe movement of vehicles and citizens, as well as for the prevention and prevention of traffic accidents throughout the road network, in the first seven months of 2022 in the three prefectures of the Western Greece Region approximately 62,350 violations were confirmed Road Traffic Code.
Most violations, i.e. 10,827, related to excessive speed, while another 3,414 violations were confirmed for non-use of seat belts by vehicle drivers and another 2,305 for non-use of helmets by two-wheeler drivers.
In the five prefectures of the Peloponnese Region, approximately 53,000 violations of the Code of Conduct were confirmed in the same period of time.
And in the Peloponnese, the most violations, i.e. 12,730, related to excessive speed, while another 1,704 were confirmed for non-use of helmets by two-wheel drivers and another 1,289 for non-use of seat belts by vehicle drivers.
It should be noted that most violations of the Code of Conduct, both in Western Greece and in the Peloponnese, were recorded last May.
Specifically, 10,183 violations were confirmed in Western Greece and 8,546 in the Peloponnese. The fewest violations were recorded in Western Greece in February, reaching 7,372, and in the Peloponnese in January, where 6,081 were confirmed.
Furthermore, in the context of the verification of violations in the first seven months of 2022 in the region of Western Greece, it was found, according to the police data, that 1,352 vehicles had not passed a road traffic control check, while the number of corresponding violations in the region of Peloponnese reached 903.
Also, in the same period, 206 drivers in Western Greece were detected talking on the mobile phone while driving, while the corresponding number of offenders in the Peloponnese reached 403.
