The progress of the works for the state-of-the-art Greek drone “Archytas”, does not seem to remain on paper, as it proceeds according to the schedule, announced on Friday the Minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras.
“On September 1, after many months of preparation, the cooperation of the Hellenic Aviation Industry (EAB) with the Universities of Aristotle of Thessaloniki, Democritus of Thrace and Thessaly, for the design and industrial production of an autonomous multi-purpose drone, was launched, with funding from the Ministry of Finance. At the end of the 1st quarter, the 1st evaluation took place. It was found that the progress of the work of the “Archytas” program is in accordance with the schedule “, says Mr. Staikouras.
He adds that the next evaluation of the program will take place at the end of next quarter.
“I congratulate all those involved for the spirit of creative cooperation and the observance of what has been agreed. “Greece is moving forward with credibility and order,” the Minister points out.
The “Archytas” program will result in an Unmanned Aircraft described as Multi-Role. The main goal is, when flying, to “have an understanding of the environment in which it is” either on the ground or in the air.
