The mother states in her testimony that she did not realize that her daughter was missing because she was cooking and when she went out at noon to call her for food, she was nowhere to be found.

Today they apologize parents of the 8-year-old girl who was found dead in a car in a Roma camp in Halandri.

The child’s death is attributed to heat stroke according to the doctors of the Gennimatas hospital, however an autopsy has been ordered for the exact cause of his death.

His 29-year-old mother and 27-year-old father were arrested for fatal exposure of a minor and criminal charges were brought against them.

According to police sources, the mother states in her statement that she did not realize that her daughter was missing because she was cooking and when she went out at noon to call her for food, she was nowhere to be found.

Immediately the parents and other residents of the camp started looking for the little girl and a long time later they found her unresponsive in the passenger seat of the car which was only a few meters away from the house.

The car, as they said, belonged to the girl’s grandfather and had been abandoned for years, and it didn’t even have door handles.
