Chalandri: The parents of the 8-year-old girl who died of heatstroke are free with restrictive conditions

Her parents were released on bail 8 years old who was found dead three days ago, in abandoned car in a Roma camp in Halandri, who apologized to the investigator for the charge of fatal exposure of a minor.

The two parents of the 8-year-old girl were released, after the apologies they gave, with the agreement of the investigator and the prosecutor, who set for the father the restrictive condition of the ban on leaving the country, a condition they also imposed on the mother, who is also required to appear two times a month at a Police Station.

The child had been found unconscious in an abandoned vehicle, belonging to his grandfather, by his parents and camp residents who were searching for him. The car had been abandoned for years and had no door handles. So when they found the little girl, they broke the window to get her out and took her to the “Georgios Gennimatas” hospital, where she was pronounced dead, which is estimated to have been caused by heatstroke.

In her statements, the advocate of the 8-year-old’s parents, Gianna Panagopouloureferred to “a tragedy” experienced by her principals and emphasized that the mother had not realized that her daughter was missing as she was inside the house cooking and that when she went out to call her to eat she found that the child was nowhere to be found.
