A new, safer “face” is presented by Limanakia after the completion of the maintenance and upgrading works carried out.
The interventions concern its entire length Beachfrontfrom the reconstruction works of Falirikos to the Ports of Vouliagmeni and Varkiza but also important interventions in the tunnels of Karamanlis and Souniou Avenue.
The appearance of the road has changed characteristically with a new anti-slip high-grip asphalt carpet that reduces rolling noise and makes its appearance on many and large sections of the beach.
The upgrades, which aim to improve road safety on a route that is used even more now in the summer, seem to be completed after many months and became a reality after the “unblocking” of projects by the Attica Region with a total budget of almost 100 million euros .
In a video from a drone that was recently posted on the account of Traffic Management and Road Safety consultant, Kimonas Logothetis, (Traffic Management Center) the improvements that contribute to the increase of road safety in Limanakia are clearly visible.
The upgrade of the light fixtures was one of the last works carried out on the beach front. It is part of the implementation of a project that has a budget of 37 million euros and concerns the replacement of energy-consuming lamps with new LED technology, which can save electricity up to 70%, while at the same time improving the lighting conditions.
