Six traffickers who were promoting illegal immigrants within the country, on five different occasions, were arrested within 24 hours by police officers in the areas of Evros, Rodopi and Xanthi. As announced by the Police Departments of Orestiada, Rodopi and Xanthi, of the six (6) traffickers, five are foreigners and one is a citizen.
More specifically, in the first case, yesterday at noon in a settlement of Evros, police officers of the Didymoteicho Border Guard Department arrested the local perpetrator, because while driving an I.X.E. car illegally transported eleven (11) illegal immigrants into the interior.
In the second case, at about the same time on Egnatia Odos, Komotini – Xanthi section, policemen of the Iasmos Border Guard Department arrested a foreigner, because driving a car. car illegally transported five (5) illegal immigrants into the hinterland.
In the third case, last night in the settlement of Rodopi, police officers of the Arrian Police Department arrested a foreigner, because while driving an I.H.F. car illegally transported five (5) illegal immigrants into the hinterland. The individual was driving without a driving license.
In the fourth case, last night on the Egnatia Road, Komotini – Xanthi, police officers of the Komotini Security Department arrested two foreigners, because they were riding in an I.X.E. car illegally transported five (5) illegal immigrants into the hinterland.
In the fifth case, in the evening hours of 17/18-8-2022 in a settlement of Xanthi, police officers of the Border Guard Department of Xanthi arrested a foreigner, because while driving an I.X.E. car, illegally transported two (2) illegal immigrants into the interior.
