Fire fronts in Greece: 39 forest fires in the last 24 hours

With reference to the fire that broke out today in Agia Mavra Ilias, the Fire Department emphasizes that it is contained, while for the fire in a forest area in Agia Paraskevi Konitsa, it is stated that 21 firefighters with 3 groups of pedestrian sections and 2 E/P are working.

A total of 39 forest fires broke out in the last twenty-four hours in Greece, according to the Fire Department, while local investigative offices as well as units of the Arson Crimes Directorate (D.A.E.E.) are investigating their causes.

With reference to the fire that broke out today in Agia Mavra Ilias, the Fire Department emphasizes that it is contained, while for the fire in a forest area in Agia Paraskevi Konitsa, it is stated that 21 firefighters with 3 groups of pedestrian sections and 2 E/P are working.

At the same time, the announcement of the Fire Department states that according to the Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis & Civil Protection (www.civilprotection.gr), for tomorrow, Friday 19 August 2022, a high risk of fire is predicted (category risk 3) in: Attica, Boeotia, Fthiotida, Evia and Magnesia, several areas of Peloponnese, Western Greece and Crete as well as in Dodecanese, Samos and Ikaria.
