The Greek-American ambassador accompanied Robert Menendez to Alexandroupoli
Although 3.5 months have passed since he assumed his duties and he has already visited other parts of the country, the Greek-American ambassador, George Tsounis, was in Alexandroupoli for the first time.
In particular, he accompanied the well-known Philhellenic and ardent supporter of Greek positions in the USA throughout time, Robert Menendez.
However, what seems to have caused a reaction – there were quite a few comments on social media – was the appearance of Mr Tsounis.
It is characteristic that even the Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis, Anthimos, issued a statement on this specific issue.
His Excellency states: “The American Ambassador of the United States of America in Greece, she cannot appear informally and even in carefree summer clothing in Alexandroupolis”.
As one can see in the photos, Mr. Tsounis was wearing shorts, sandals and a purple shirt that said “pride beach”.
