Three of the first 13 accused are being taken to prison as members of the circuit that provided forged documents, mainly to foreigners and criminals, who apologized late last night to the Corruption Investigator.
After an apologetic process that lasted more than twelve hours, the court clerk and the Prosecutor decided that three of the first group of defendants who apologized for a series of charges should be remanded in custody.
They are a police officer, a municipal employee who served in the Registry as well as a foreigner, of Albanian origin who, according to the voluminous case file that has been formed for the action of the criminal group, had a central role in the structure of the circuit.
The other ten defendants who apologized yesterday were released on restrictive conditions.
The apologies of the other seven accused who have been arrested for the big case, in which several police officers are involved, continue today before the Investigator, while the investigation for the case continues by the prosecuting authorities.
