Savage attack on the councilor of the mayor of Thessaloniki for a disabled parking space – “We will kill you”

by

The mayor’s special adviser on disability issues, Yannis Kastouras, was the victim of a brutal attack in the center of Thessaloniki

Yesterday, Wednesday, August 24, 2022, in the evening in the center of Thessaloniki, the special advisor of the mayor of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Zervas, for disability issues, Yannis Kastouras, experienced moments of terror, when he was brutally and inhumanely attacked by two foreigners (one of whom was Spanish , resident of Germany), after a remark he made to them, as they had parked their vehicle in a disabled position.

As Mr. Kastouras says speaking to GRTimes “last night I was looking to park and I found on Pavlou Mela Street 11 that a large displacement vehicle with German license plates had parked in the handicapped spot. First I started honking. The owner of the car was inside a nearby restaurant eating.

I will park where I want…

As soon as he realized this, he went outside and the following dialogue ensued:

-You have parked in a handicapped spot

-I know

-Is this how you park in Germany?

-I will park wherever I want

They took his… mobile phone

Then Mr. Kastouras tried to call the police, with the Spaniard putting his hand through the window of his car and grabbing his cell phone (!), in order not to call for help. The hot-blooded Spaniard left Mr. Kastoura’s cell phone on a parked vehicle, a few meters away from the spot where the mayor’s adviser was attacked.

You are done…

“With the many workers in the store they brought me my phone and I called the police. And then they came back raging and started banging on the hood of my car and telling me we’re going to kill you. And they said something worse as soon as they saw my wheelchair, “why should we kill you, you’re finished anyway” he pointed out.

Punching passers-by

And he added: “Then luckily for me, two passers-by ran to my defense and got punched in the face. A chase ensued, and their own cellphones were also grabbed when they attempted to call the police again. The worst part was that one of the two who intervened to help fell down and then the foreigner took off and fell hard on him. Fortunately, the police came very quickly and arrested them.”

The police officers who arrived at the scene arrested the Spaniard in the context of the car accident and today he will be taken to the prosecutor. The second assailant who was with him escaped.

Lawsuits were filed against them by the victims of the attack for insult, threat and intentional bodily harm.
