According to experts, in 20 years the wreck of the Titanic may have been completely destroyed

On April 10, 1912, Mr “unsinkable titanic” sets sail from Southampton, England on his maiden and fateful voyage. It sank after hitting an iceberg on the night between April 14 and 15. Over 1,500 people drowned.

Since then the wreck of the Titanic, which lies at a depth of 3,800 meters in the North Atlantic Ocean, has continued to deteriorate, according to warnings from teams investigating the wreck with underwater vessels.

Previous expeditions to its ruins have found that the ship is “rapidly deteriorating” due to metal-eating bacteria more than 100 years after it sank on its maiden voyage. According to experts, in 20 years the wreck of the Titanic may have been completely destroyed.

“OceanGate Expeditions”, a company that explores the wreck site with the Titan submarine, confirmed that the famous ship’s mast had collapsed and its debris was scattered at a depth of 12,500 feet, as noted in its report by the “Independent” newspaper.

After the second annual series of dives on the sunken ship, founder and head of the company Stockton Rush, said in a statement that the ship is in a worse condition than it was last year.

“This marriage of biology, ecology, archeology and GIS mapping makes a unique contribution to the study of the Titanic and the ocean floor. Today, we have better maps of the moon’s surface than we do of Earth’s oceans, and that needs to change,” says Steve Rush, chief scientist of OceanGate Expeditions.

According to the researchers, the wreck has created an “island of biodiversity” in the ocean area that is otherwise a mud flat.
