Regarding the schools, Mrs. Kerameos mentioned that this year they are opening under the best conditions and with greater number of teachers of recent years. “For 12 years, from 2008 to 2020, not a single teacher was appointed to our schools. During the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, we have now made 25,000 permanent appointments”, he said characteristically.
He added that many innovations are being introduced in the new school year, such as the expansion of the full-day school. “Until last year the full day ended at 4:00 p.m. and from this year in half of the country’s departments, approximately 5,500, they will operate until 5:30 p.m.,” he emphasized and added that the aim of this measure is to upgrade free public education and support working parents.
