Advisory service on the options available to the citizen, depending on their situation
The launch of the new service INKA-Counseling of Over-indebted Households/INKA-synan information network on Private Debt, funded by the European Union, announced INKA – General Consumer Federation of Greece.
As stated in the announcement, “in the context of the federation’s ongoing effort to contribute to over-indebted households who are dramatically affected in the current period with the risk of losing their main residence, the INKA+ service hopes to offer quality personalized information and guidance in collaboration with professionals with specific knowledge subject participating in the action”.
As mentioned by the president of INKA-GOKE G. Lehourite: “The goal of the INKA+ service is the maximum contribution, so that each over-indebted consumer can consider the options provided by the law, but also at each time, in order to save their property or limit their problem by saving time, especially and in regions outside Attica where access to legal advice may be more difficult”.
Specifically, from September 1, 2022, consumers who face problems due to large debts to banks, insurance organizations, the public, energy companies, etc., can contact the new INKA+ support telephone center and receive information and updates about the possibilities provided to them by the Greek and European legislation to deal with debts or the overall management of their debt, scheduling appointments with lawyers who cooperate with the offices of the local INKA organizations operating in Athens, Piraeus, Agrinio, Chania and Rhodes. For the rest of the areas, it is possible to schedule an appointment by phone or via video conference.
The INKA+ service is provided free of charge, via the telephone line 213 0 999 140 (urban charge) and operates on working days and hours 10:00-14:00.
It is pointed out that the consulting services through INKA+ do not include legal support before courts or other authorities, which the interested party should organize in cooperation with a lawyer of his choice.
The INKA+ service is financed as its action The European Union in the area of ​​Consumer Protection of the Single Market Programme, managed by the Executive Agency of the European Innovation Council and Small and Medium Enterprises (EISMEA).
