EKPA’s E-Learning completes 21 years

by

In 2001, the EKPA Professor of Economics, Panagiotis Petrakis, and his team were inspired to create a research program for the distance delivery of educational programs called the EKPA Supplementary Distance Education (E-Learning) Program. Twenty-one years later, where is said Program? Was the venture the expected success? The only criterion for the answer is the course of the Program to date.

“We are going through the 21st year of operation of the EKPA E-Learning Program, which started in 2001 with 5 programsmainly in the areas of Business Organization and Management, Entrepreneurship and Finance, and is constantly developing”, reports the Scientific Officer P.E. Petrakis. “There are 400+ programs available today training in Greek language and above 40 in the English languagewith more than 150 Professors of the Foundationwho participate in their development and implementation as Academic Managers, while more than 140,000 people. The goal is what is offered programs to respond to needs of the modern market work and equip trainees with immediately applicable knowledge, skills and abilities for specific jobs, with an emphasis on specialties with perspective, in order for the trainees to achieve their goals and to star in the future. In fact, to achieve this goal, the E-Learning of EKPA is constantly and systematically developing new and innovative training programs directly linked to cutting-edge professions, but also the development of digital skillswhose demand is becoming more and more evident”.

Now learners can search and locate almost any program they are interested in through one wide range of directions, such as: Psychology, Pedagogy, Special Education, Marketing, Health, Business Organization and Management, Finance, Tourism, Real Estate, Shipping, Environment, Informatics, Web Development, Digital Transformation, Legal, Culture, etc.

“About the quality of programs”continues Mr. Petrakis, “its members are a stable guarantee teaching staff (Faculty) of the University of Athens, but also market experts and executives. They, in close collaboration with the Program team, format the material appropriately so that it functions educationally and is not simply delivered as a concentrated material that could be found anywhere. So with user friendly educational material which completely covers the presented object and making use of it educational platform which incorporates all the new technologies that ensure interaction and self-evaluation, the learner at the end really feels that he has acquired the knowledge he needs and therefore lost neither time nor money.

“THE respect towards the learner is our main concern and is achieved by substantial and effective training. We listen to his needs and help him develop professional skills, in order to confidently faces the needs that arise in his work.

“However, what is not only a criterion for the progress of the E-Learning Program so far, but also a signpost for the future of the training it will continue to offer, is the anxiety –and capability – of the R&D department team (research and development of new programs) to identify in time the needs of the new era and the labor market and to have the relevant programs available. Indicatively, I mention programs for him digital transformation and digital and green skills’.

But the Program’s activity does not stop here. Treating its successful course so far not as a reason to rest, but as a springboard for further activity, the Program team four years ago took the bold step abroad. Start creating and offering English language programs in the global community. Despite the expected stiff competition, the fact that today it provides more than 40 English-language programs, with the tendency to be incremental due to the interest that is constantly expressed, shows that with the dedication and persistence in quality and functional training that distinguishes the group from the beginning , there are no limits to what can be achieved.

The only what should really concern anyone who wishes to be educated is not whether to turn to the Supplementary Distance Education (E-Learning) Program of EKPA, but the which program from the hundreds of Greek-language or dozens of English-language programs to choose. He leaves the rest to the experienced team of the EKPA E-learning Program.
