ADAE denies that it issued a statement after the first checks in government agencies

For “fake news” that has seen the light of day and which state that the Authority for Ensuring the Privacy of Communications (ADAE) issued an information announcement after the first checks, which it carries out in state agencies for the case of wiretapping, this independent authority says in a press release it issued. In fact, ADAE, after denying the relevant information that was published, “appeals to the mass media, in these difficult times that the country is going through, not to irresponsibly broadcast false news”.

Specifically, the relevant press release issued by the independent authority states the following: “The ADAE denies, in the most official and categorical way, news that saw the light of day in the printed and online press, that it issued an information notice after the first checks, carried out in government services. As is known, the results of the audits are confidential. Only after the completion of the audits will the relevant findings be communicated to the competent authorities to take notice of them.

ADAE, aware of its responsibility and its constitutional duty, carries out all the necessary checks, in the context of which it exhausts the leeway given to it by the laws, in order to establish what exactly has happened in the various reported cases. At the same time, he religiously observes all privacy laws and would not hesitate to violate them.

He appeals to the mass media, in these difficult times that the country is going through, not to spread fake news irresponsibly. Such actions only contribute to disinformation and in no way help the cause of privacy protection”
