In more detail, detachments of the MAT, YMET, OPKE and Action will be deployed in central streets of Thessaloniki, from where the planned demonstrations will pass, while an ELAS helicopter and drones will supervise and provide an image of the EL Operations Center .AS., at the Thessaloniki Police Station.

Police cages and railings are expected to be deployed around the Vellideo Conference Center to prevent the movement of protesters towards the International Exhibition Center, while “Aiantas”, the police water cannon, will be on standby just in case.

Protest rallies
In any case, a multitude of mobilizations have been planned by unions, collectives, organizations and political movements for tomorrow.
Indicatively, at 8.30 in the morning, workers in public hospitals hold a rally.
At 6 p.m. GSEE and ADEDY are calling for a gathering at the Venizelos Statue, while for the same time PAME is also calling for a rally in Chanth Square.
People close to the extra-parliamentary left and the wider anti-authoritarian space will gather in the Chamber.
The Security Forces are also calling for a gathering in the White Tower Square.
An hour earlier, an online call is scheduled, at the White Tower, by people who oppose vaccinations.
Finally, at 7 pm, a gathering is scheduled at the Statue of M. Alexander, by the “Greeks” National Party.
It is noted that there will be pre-gatherings from 5 pm in various parts of the city.
Traffic measures
Traffic regulations from the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate, in view of the opening of the 86th TIF as well as the holding of the two-day conference “The 2nd Thessaloniki Metropolitan Summit”, have been implemented from today and will be in effect until Sunday afternoon.
For example, stopping and parking is prohibited on Stratou Avenue and 3rd September Street, on Tsimiski, Egnatia and Agia Sofia Streets, as well as on Nikis and M. Alexandrou Avenues.
The stop-parking ban will be extended from tomorrow morning on Angelaki Streets and parts of Ethn Streets. Amynis, Agios Dimitriou, Gr. Lambrakis, Armenopoulou, N. Germanou, M. Andronikou and Iasonidou.
From 3 pm on Saturday, a total traffic ban will be in effect in the center of Thessaloniki and in particular on the following streets: Stratou Avenue (from Kautanzoglou to Hanth Square), 3rd of September (from M. Alexandrou to Agios Dimitrios), Vas. Olgas ( from M. Botsaris to Agia Triados), Vas. Georgiou (from Agia Triados to M. Andronikos), Nikis Avenue, Kountourioti, K. Karamanli (from Katsimidis until September 3rd), Egnatia (from Lagadas until September 3rd), Ethn. Amyni (from Agios Dimitrios to White Tower Square), Tsimiski, Agios Dimitrios (from Lagadas to Stefanos Dragoumis), Agia Sophia (from Egnatia to Agia Sophia Square, as well as around Agia Sophia Square), Pavlou Mela and El. Venizelou.
As announced by the Traffic Authority, the movement of vehicles will be conducted by alternative routes (from east to west via Katsimidis – Ring Road – Agios Dimitrios – Olympiados and from west to east via Lagadas – Ring Road – Agios Dimitrios), while traffic wardens will be at key points and will regulate traffic.
