Thessaloniki: Checks on school buses – 92 violations confirmed on the first day of the school year

A total of 129 checks were carried out on school buses, with the most violations (66) involving tachographs.

Ninety-two violations were registered by the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate on school buses, during the first day of the new school year.

As the police announced, a total of 129 checks were carried out on school buses, with the most violations (66) involving tachographs. Three violations were confirmed for speed limits and seat belts, two for lack of a fire extinguisher and another 18 for various traffic violations.

At the same time, police officers distributed traffic education and road safety information brochures to students of primary schools in Thessaloniki and in cities in Central Macedonia.

As stated in a police announcement, actions to prevent traffic accidents will continue throughout the school year with traffic education lectures by Traffic officers and preventive traffic checks on school buses.
