Thessaloniki: In Autoforo, those arrested for the incidents at AUTH – Gathering outside the Courts

He was referred to the Autoforo Three-member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki to try the 27-year-old who was arrested for involvement in the incidents that took place during the night at AUTH, inside and outside the university campus of the city. The same court was also referred to two arrested (24 and 21 years old) for the tension yesterday afternoon at AUTH, during the student protest against the university police.

Against the 27-year-old arrested for the incidents at night, who does not have student status, the public prosecutor brought criminal proceedings for disturbing the public peace and violence against police officers (resistance). As for the other two, as it became known, they are students, and they are being prosecuted for disturbing the peace and disobedience.

In view of the transfer of the three arrested to the public prosecutor, members of student unions and supporters gathered outside the Thessaloniki Courts.

No chemicals were used in the area of the musical concert at AUTH, nor did her forces move against the people who were watching her, it is emphasized, among other things, in a statement by ELAS about the incidents that took place at night on the university campus and then in the city center. A total of four arrests were made for the incidents, while the 27-year-old was arrested.

“The police forces, in order to repel the attack, repelled the attackers using appropriate means and tactics, who, in order to avoid arrest, integrated themselves into the people attending the event. The above-mentioned pushback took place at a distance from the concert venue, while the police forces did not move against the people watching it and no chemicals were used by them at the concert venue” mentioned among others.
