He was found not guilty by a majority of the offenses of disturbing the peace and violence against officials (resistance).
The 27-year-old who was arrested on the university campus during the events that unfolded in the early hours of last Saturday, while a music concert was in progress on the lawns of the Philosophy School of the Foundation, was found not guilty beyond reasonable doubt by the Three-member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki.
He was found not guilty by a majority of the offenses of disturbing the peace and violence against officials (resistance).
In his apology, he denied the accusations, stressing that he had no involvement in the episodes and that he was just watching the concert with his girlfriend. As he apologized, he was arrested while looking for a way to escape from the concert venue after the incidents that broke out.
Previously, a police witness reported to the Court that the 27-year-old participated in a group of about 30 people who moved against a MAT squad, in front of the Agricultural School.
“They threw bottles at us and cursed at us,” he said, pointing out – however – that the accused was not among those throwing objects. The witness stated – moreover – that he distinguished the accused “by the white shoes he was wearing” and that he “tried to avoid his arrest”.
